How to get a cheap Thanksgiving flight

Time has come out with a list of ways to get cheap domestic flights within the United States, taken from a bunch of other “experts” in the field. According to Kayak, you should book in early November, at least two weeks before the holiday. Orbitz says that you should book this week by Saturday; if you can’t do that, do it by the 18th at the very latest. Skyscanner says your flight needs to be booked at least two weeks before Thanksgiving. So what’s Time’s takeaway? Basically, you’re not going to save a lot at this late of date so book it whenever you can.

Cheapflights lists places to give thanks around the world

With Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend, and American Thanksgiving next month, Cheapflights has put together a list of places to celebrate the holiday. In Bala, Ontario, Canada, the Cranberry Festival is the place to go between October 17 through 19 for live entertainment, food, and bog tours. In Biglerville, Pennsylvania, apple lovers enjoyed the National Apple Harvest Festival ran this year until October 12. In Jerusalem, Israel you can celebrate Sukkot a seven-day festival to honor the time when Israelites traveled across the desert sleeping in temporary shelters. During the festival, Jewish families around the world construct a sukkah, in which they eat meals for the whole festival that runs from October 8 through 15.

Jet Airways offers half off domestic and international flights

Jet Airways is having a seat sale and is offering up to half off of premiere and economy class travel within its international and domestic network. The sale applies to bookings until October 6 (inclusive) for flights starting November 5. It’s also valid on some of the flights offered by Jet Airways working with Etihad Airways.

On domestic flights, the discount applies to the base fare and then fuel surcharge is added to the fares. On international flights, the discount is applicable only on base fares, and for flights to Abu Dhabi, the discount is only valid on direct flights from Pune, Goa, Ahmedabad, and Lucknow.
