The world celebrated Summer Solstice in a big way

People all around the world were incredibly excited to welcome in the start of summer and with that the longest day of the year. Summer Solstice celebrations took place all around the world including New York City where all kinds of events were held in Times Square.

In Reykjavik, Iceland there was the Secret Solstice Festival that tourists flocked to. Because Iceland is known as the home of the midnight sun it meant you could experience solstice to the full extent. The sun didn’t set until midnight and then sunrise began just three hours later at 3 a.m.

Those celebrating in Croatia got to take part in Astrofest which appeals to those who love stargazing and astronomers from around the world. The event was filled with science, stargazing, incredible local cuisine and foods, and entertainment.

Vancouver customers wait in line for days to get cheap flights

Almost 100 people were willing to waiting line for a really long time outside Flight Centre in Vancouver in order to get inexpensive tickets to New Zealand. The tickets were being offered for $475 for 75 people, which translates to a savings of around $1500. Two friends, Seija Rain and Tayler Luck were the first two people in line, and they both say it was worth the wait. They were able to use Four Seasons and Tim Hortons for the bathroom facilities, but at some times, used a cup in their tent. Twenty-five of the people who stood in line will be on the same flight. They’ve even created a Facebook group through the friendships made with other campers.
