Air Canada Launching Cheap Flights to Holiday Destinations

Air Canada, the nation’s largest airline, is getting set to launch their new budget carrier, which will allow for more affordable travel travel to the U.S., the Caribbean, and Europe.  With the lower fairs, more Canadians will be able to plan vacations for themselves and their families.  At the moment, the airline is waiting on the delivery of new, larger planes and until that happens they are waiting on the launch of the budget arm of their airline.

Calin Rovinescu, president and chief executive officer of Air Canada, said that the launch of the new carrier represents only growth for their pilots and the entire Air Canada family.  Once the new order of planes begin to arrive, the current planes, which are smaller, will be switched over to the new, cheaper routes.  At the present time, Air Canada does not expect the new carrier to launch until 2013 and will use up to 30 Airbus A319s and 20 Boeing 767s.
