Book Soon for Summer Vacations, Prices are Rising Fast

If you are on the lookout for cheap flights for your summer vacation, then you had better book soon because flights are filling up and the prices are rising.  According to Rick Seaney, CEO of U.S.-based travel website FareCompare.com, last summer, ticket prices were the highest they had been in eight years and this summer’s prices are 1% higher than those of last summer.  Fortunately experts say there are still a few tricks to find less expensive flights.

With airline mergers and lower capacity, how will travelers find flight deals at this late stage in the game?  Tyr to book outside of peak travel times, which can be difficult in the summer.  However, the last 10 days in August is when airlines start offering discounts because there are fewer people traveling.  You will also need to scoop up the deals fast because they won’t last long.  The cheapest places to travel this summer are Ireland, Spain, Germany, and Switzerland.  Austin and San Antonio are good places to go in the U.S.  Also, travelers should shop for flights through multiple channels.
