Brits Grabbing Up Cheap Holiday Flights

With the pound at its strongest against the U.S. dollar since 2009 and flights between Europe and the U.S. at very low prices, Brits are taking advantage of the opportunity for a cheap vacation.  Price breaks for flights to Los Angeles, New York, and Florida are as high as £300, thanks to new discount flights launched by Ryanair and Aer Lingus.  In addition, resort prices in Spain and Portugal are a third of cheaper than they were in 2009.

According to Kirsty Ward, head of Asda Money, the exchange rate between the sterling and the euro has improved by 7%.  This means that the sterling is 11% stronger compared to the U.S. dollar than it was at the same time last year.  This has resulted in a huge increase in the number of travellers buying both euros and dollars.  The top bargain locations include Turkey, Spain, Greece, and Portugal.
