Budget airline looks into flights between Europe and Eilat

EasyJet, the UK budget airline, is considering direct services to Eilat, the southern resort town in Israel. Israel’s Tourism Ministry Director General Amir Halevy met with execs from EasyJet at the World Travel Market conference in London last week as well as with reps from Transavia, the Dutch carrier. The country wants to increase international air traffic to the city, which deals with direct competition from the airport across the border in Jordan in Aqaba.

Earlier in 2014, EasyJet launched a Hebrew-language website for Israeli passengers; it also plans to begin a flight between Paris and Tel Aviv in 2015.
