Cheap Flights to Israel Thanks to Computer Glitch

A computer glitch with El Al allowed some people to book cheap flights from the U.S. to Israel.  Some tickets were bought for as little as $350 and with social media what it is, it didn’t take long for the deal to spread through texting, Tweeting, and Facebook.  The cost of the flights were about one third that of the usual cost, but the airline does not yet know how many people managed to snap up tickets at such a great price.  Once they realized what was happening the fixed the error in the system.

There were even cheap tickets bought through travel deal websites such as Orbitz and Expedia and the deal included flights that connected with U.S. cities, in addition to direct flights.  One man wrote on Facebook that he managed to get round trip tickets from his U.S. city for $500.  He hopes the airline doesn’t cancel the ticket.  Meanwhile, El Al is currently looking into the legality of the situation and once they do, they will decide how to handle the situation.
