Cheapflights compiles list of vacations spots to celebrate Teddy Bear Day

September 9 is Teddy Bear Day and Cheapflights put together a list of destinations where you can celebrate.

  1. It wouldn’t be Teddy Bear Day without Theodore Roosevelt, the man after whom the stuffed bear was named. Check out Theodore Roosevelt Island in Washington, D.C.
  2. Winnipeg, Manitoba has a commemorative statue of Winnie the Pooh, that well-known bear story that was based on a real-life bear named Winnie (short for Winnipeg). A.A. Milne’s son, Christopher Robin, loved the bear and that is what inspired Milne to write the stories.
  3. The Vermont Teddy Bear Factory in Shelburne, Vermont has been in operation for over 20 years. You can see how they are made and even buy a new best friend at the gift shop.
