Norwegian recognized as best low-cost carrier in Europe

Norwegian has been given the award for the best low-cost airline in Europe by Skytrax World Airline Awards.  This is the second year in a row that the airline has won the top spot, pushing out EasyJet, which sits in second place.  The Skytrax World Airline Awards are determined based on feedback from a survey taken by airline travelers from more than 160 cities around the world.

The survey reviews more than 200 airlines, asking respondents to rate various aspects of the airlines, such as their check-in experience, comfort of the seats, food and drink, service, and entertainment.  While EasyJet is in second place, they are also the second largest low-cost airline in Europe, with Ireland’s Ryanair being the largest.  This past month, Norwegian launched two flights per week from London’s Gatwick Airport to Los Angeles, with a starting price as low as  £209.
