Norwegian tries out long-haul flights from Gatwick to U.S.

Norwegian’s red and white jets are trying out their cheap international flights from Gatwick Airport to the United States this week. The carrier already flies from Oslo to New York, but this will be the first time flying from the UK to the United States.

The carrier uses Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, which cuts fuel consumption by one-fifth. This is important because fuel accounts for half of all the operating costs on long-haul flights. Planes that are 90 percent full will also boost yield, and the CEO of the company says they have enough people to want to use their services.
