The best day to buy cheap flights

According to conventional wisdom, the cheapest flights are purchased on Tuesdays, but a new study shows that people might find cheaper flights later in the week.

Hopper surveyed data from popular international ticket searches starting in January 2013 and discovered that Thursdays are actually the best day to buy tickets. Having said that, you’ll only save about $25 on international flights and $10 on domestic flights comparing the cheapest days to the more expensive days.

Avoid buying tickets on the weekend, because Saturdays are the most expense days to buy domestic tickets and Sundays are the worst to buy international tickets. Additionally, don’t travel on the weekend, because those tickets cost much more than those where you travel through the week.
