The high cost of cheap flights with eDreams

A holiday-maker in the UK was shocked when she went online to book two return trips to Portugal and found that the online travel agency eDreams wanted to charge her £23.7 billion. Marion Sessions was about to click “proceed” when she realized how much the website was charging for the return baggage check-in. The eDreams website was advertising cheap flights using Ryanair and Monarch Airlines, and was offering her two return flights for £164.07 (US$266.54). Before she clicked confirm, she looked at the total price and saw the website was charging an outlandish price of over £20 billion.

A spokesperson says it appears to be an isolated incident and made assurances that the system would not have permitted a transaction of this size.
