Tigerair Expanding to Offer More Cheap Flights

Tigerair is planning a major expansion of their business, which will result in the hiring of 150 new employees and the capacity to carry an additional 800,000 passengers via Queensland each year.  A new base for the airline will open in Brisbane in March/April.  From the new base, a new route from Brisbane to Adelaide will be launched on March 11 and new flights from Brisbane to Cairns and Darwin will begin on April 15.

Passengers will be able to take advantage of the new DIY bag drop and self-service check-in kiosks and the airline’s new base in Brisbane.  The fares on the new routes are reasonable, with the Sydney to Adelaide fares starting from $64.95 and fares from Brisbane to Cairns starting at $79.95.  Tigerair Australia CEO Rob Sharp, said the announcement of the expansion is great news for consumers and for the economy and domestic tourism across Australia.
