Tips for finding a cheap flight

Everyone has suggestions for finding the cheapest flight. Here’s some advice to help your money go a bit further when booking your tickets.

1. Don’t believe everything you read. Just because one airline offers the cheapest tickets 54 days in advance doesn’t mean they all do. Shop around for the best prices.

2. Sign up for airfare alerts. This is probably one of the best ways to keep track of the best offers; you’ll get emails when fares go down.

3. Use Twitter. You’ll often see short-term offers through Twitter that don’t end up in email alerts. Check out @Airfarewatchdog as well as any other airline you’re interested in using.
