Typhoon Yolanda causes flights and port operations to be canceled

A number of domestic and international flights have been canceled due to Typhoon Yolanda, which weather experts expect to hit Philippine land sometime early Friday. The airlines involved include PAL Express, Philippine Airlines, TigerAir Philippines, Cebu Pacific, Air Asia Zest, and AirAsia Philippines.

Philippines Airlines has canceled all flights to over 20 destinations for Friday and PAL Express has canceled at least three. The other airlines have all canceled at least three flights each. If you have travel plans for Friday, please contact your airline.

The Philippine Port Authority has suspended operations in 16 ports awaiting landfall of the storm.
