Delhi's Nehru Memorial Museum is housed in the colonial mansion that was formerly the home of India's first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. Several rooms remain as Nehru left them at the time of his death in 1964, while extensive displays chronicle his life and work, including his involvment with the Independence movement and as a champion of democracy, human rights and world peace. Photographs, newspaper clippings and personal letters tell the story of Nehru's involvement in the birth of the world's largest democracy.
