First held in 1966 and still bearing the old transliteration of South Korea's second city (since 2000 it is more usually known as Busan), the Pusan International Film Festival brings the best of the world's cinema to various venues in the city, including the Haeundae screening theatre, the Pusan Yachting Center Outdoor Theater and the Daeyong Cinema, among others.
Over 200 films from over 60 countries slot into the festival's cinematic categories, such as A Window of Asian Cinema, Korean Cinema Today, World Cinema and Wide Angle, to name just a few.
