Acapulco's Botanical Garden is a revitalising escape from the bustle of the city centre. There are two creeks and a huge number of plants and blooms, many but not all are native to the area.
Palms, desert plants, hardwood trees, flowering trees, fruit trees, ferns, vines, colourful flowering shrubs and more live side by side. A non-profit-making organisation, the garden is part of the Universidad Loyola del Pacȷfico, and was inaugurated in 2002.

As well as offering a space for research and learning to students, it aims to increase awareness of the environment, the preservation of flora and fauna, and to collaborate in civic, educational and cultural projects within the community.
