Innsbruck's iconic Golden Roof hides the Goldenes Dachl Museum, six exhibition rooms documenting the lively era of Emperor Maximilian I. The 15th-century edifice was built as a royal box for watching tournaments taking place on the square below.
Adorned with frescoes, festooned with coats of arms and capped with 2738 gold-plated copper tiles, the structure is at its glittering best after dark.
