The Stadtwald in south Frankfurt is Germany's biggest city forest, with a total area of 4900 hectares. A popular recreation area for the city's inhabitants, it includes a lake, adventure playgrounds, barbecue sites and numerous restaurants, attracting large weekend crowds.
The wooden Goethetower is the perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful view of the Frankfurt skyline. On the edge of the forest is the stadium of the local football team - Eintracht Frankfurt - and an international horse-racing track.
