The Ebbelwei Express is a rattling old tram that chugs past Frankfurt's attractions at weekends. Cider-like ebbelwei (apple wine) is served on board and you can hop on or off at any stop, including starting point Alfred Brehm Platz.
The full journey takes about an hour, but visitors can board the historic tram at any of the regular stops. The experience is completed by regional music. Look out of the window while nibbling on your Brezel and watch the RɆmer, Zoo, Hauptbahnhof and the river Main pass by without moving a muscle.

If you want a bit of Frankfurt overload, try to get onto the painted tramcar during the carnival and sing along to the traditional songs amidst a forest of silly hats...
