The traditional May Dult market-cum-fair on Munich's Mariahilfplatz square, which dates back to the Middle Ages, is still relatively tourist-free. Local junk vultures congregate in the Au district on the lookout for the odd gem amidst the bric-a-brac.
Children and the young-at-heart can also take a spin on the merry-go-round at Munich's May Dult fair (but don't crack those precious purchases).
