Munich's Neues Rathaus, or new town hall, is a grand, neo-gothic building on Marienplatz in the city centre. From its imposing tower, the small monk figure of the Mɒnchner Kindl overlooks the city - and so can you after climbing the stone steps to the top. Twice a day the town hall's world-famous glockenspiel chimes from here.
