The Frɒhlingsfest (Spring Festival) fills Munich's Theresienwiese with over 100 fairground rides, beer tents and live music for more than two weeks of enjoyment.
Munich's calendar is filled with fairs and festivities and the Spring Festival neatly fills the gap between the Strong Beer season and the onset of summer with its long beer-garden evenings. The atmosphere differs from that of an English funfair or an American county fair, even if rollercoasters, merry-go-rounds, games of skill and all manner of sticky sweets feature in all three.

German fairs feature beer tents or beer gardens, yet maintain a family air - you'll see families with children enjoying themselves over their litres of pilsner just like younger and older folks. This makes Munich's Spring Festival an event offering enjoyment to adults and children alike.
