Theatron Music Summer showcases the best of Munich's thriving rock and jazz scene in a month-long series of free outdoor concerts at Theatron, a small open-air theatre on the Olympic Lake.
The festival boasts four different sections and features a multicultural music programme. A steep auditorium provides a wonderful view over both the lake and the stage.

The Music Summer starts with Sing Arts, offering performances by cabaret artists from Bavaria as well as the rest of Germany, and continues with world music. The main focus and attraction, however, is the third part, featuring various rock bands. For those who prefer to enjoy the view of the sail-like construction of the Olympic stadiums while listening to classical music or jazz, the fourth and last part in late August is the ideal time to come to Munich.

Over 100,000 visitors attend the festival every year and there are two performances every day. Full details are released on the festival website in June.
