With a jazz lounge and a trendy media bar, The Blanton Museum of Art's Birth of Cool is quite the hip exhibit! The multi-medium display examines elements that influenced the visual, graphic, and decorative arts of 1950's and 1960's California.
Highlighting influential artists of that era including Gerry Mulligan, John Lautner, Richard Neutra and Helen Lundeberg, the exhibit includes animation, television programming, a period art gallery of hard-edge abstract paintings and documentary photography.
