Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum

Daily; not Mon or Tue
The Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum in Austin is based around the work of American sculptor Charles Umlauf (1911-1994).
The garden features more than 130 pieces by Umlauf, a prolific artist. His sculptures range from detailed realism to lyrical abstractions, using materials ranging from the exotic woods, terra cotta and cast stone of his earlier pieces, to the bronze, alabaster and luminous marbles of his prime. Umlauf's subjects included family groups (particularly mothers and children), animals, religious and mythological figures and sensuous nudes. The full range of his work can be seen in both permanent and changing exhibitions in the museum and garden. The museum also organises an educational programme and hosts monthly events.
